DeNeen L. Brown, staff writer with the Washington Post reports that the popular erotica author and film producer has filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in Maryland. According to the article, Zane listed her assets at $1.4 million dollars, debts of $3.4 million dollars and an “unknown amount” to the IRS. Her attorney, tax officials and Zane are keeping tight lipped.
She has sold millions of copies of her “steamy novels”, hitting the New York Times bestseller list more than 25 times. Reportedly she lists her checking account balance at $400.00, savings of $51.00 and a money market account worth $8.00. She is also listed as “executive producer” of a new movie called “Addicted”, based on one of her novels.
