New Year’s Resolution (2018)- Financial Fresh Start

Many people are starting to think about what will be their New Year’s Resolution.

I don’t know why, but we all seem to gear up for the holidays and only start to think about resolutions as the calendar arbitrarily changes the year.

We CAN and should make resolutions to make our lives better, and I guess the start of a new year signals us to think about what we can do to have a Fresh Start, a new beginning.

Maybe your New Year’s Resolution is to be healthier; which is a common resolution. But when you consider health, you should consider not only your body and mind, but also your financial health.

Are you financially fit? Can you pay $500 for an unexpected bill if you had to?

Finances are a struggle for many Americans, and often we beat ourselves up for being failures at budgeting, making ends meet, or being able to pay our bills. But the reality is, many of us are living paycheck to paycheck, working multiple jobs to make ends meet, or putting our own needs on hold in order to ensure our kids are fed, clothed, and able to participate in activities along with their peers.

Bankruptcy can be seen as a social Taboo, something no one talks about, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Bankruptcy can be the fresh start, the refresh that you need to get your finances back on track.  Whether financial woes are just beginning or have been a long-term concern, bankruptcy can be the re-set button you were looking for.

A New Year’s Resolution is supposed to be something to look forward to, bankruptcy doesn’t have to mean something negative, but rather a positive step in the right direction towards a positive financial future. A refresh on your budget and an open door into the new era of financial freedom from your debt woes of the past.

We can and do make sacrifices, but forcing yourself to stay in a place of financial stress and discordance is not a punishment you are required to endure. As a business owner, I too ride the tide of financial ups and downs, but my goal is to help my clients suffer less from financial insecurity.

If you are considering bankruptcy, make “A Financial Fresh Start” a New Year’s Resolution you can actually accomplish.

What makes us different at our law firm, we truly are caring, concerned people who have a commitment to our clients’ futures. You are not a number, but a face, a story, a family; and we truly want to help YOU on your path to future financial healthfulness.
